Our Causes & Community Involvement
At Insight Talent Solutions, a core focus of our business is serving local communities. Not only do we connect local businesses with local talent, but we strive to give back to those markets in other ways. Our involvement goes beyond giving donations, as our team members are actively involved with causes that are near to our heart:
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)
In 2017, Insight Talent Solutions proudly partnered with a new cause, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). One of Sandra Smith’s clients invited her to become involved in LLS’s Light the Night Walk/Run and she decided to dig deeper and learn what LLS was all about. She learned that:
- LLS’s mission is to cure blood cancers, honor survivors, and remember those who have lost their lives to cancer. LLS funds research at hundreds of leading cancer centers and universities worldwide to find a cure for blood cancer. Much of the research that is done through LLS has also benefited treatments of other cancers.
- LLS has a clear mission, a solid record of accomplishment, and meets a high standard of allocation of donated dollars.
- LLS also raises awareness for Be The Match, the largest and most diverse marrow donor registry in the world. This was particularly moving to Sandra, as she recently learned that a dear friend of hers has a family member who at 22yrs old, was diagnosed with aplastic anemia and whose only hope for a cure is receiving a bone marrow transplant. Currently there are no suitable matches for Mikayla, and she is anxiously waiting for someone to become an appropriate match. You can learn more about Mikayla’s story here.
All of these reasons motivated Sandra to organize a fundraising event to help raise money for LLS. The local community generously joined together to donate their talent, time, merchandise, and finances to help make the fundraising event a success.

The event took place on October 1, 2017 at Paulie’s Pub & Eatery in West Allis, Wi. Participants enjoyed an optional motorcycle ride through the crisp autumn air before meeting at Paulie’s. Several local musicians donated their talent to entertain guests, and sponsors such as The Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks, Milwaukee Brewers, and many more donated one-of-a-kind merchandise that was raffled or auctioned off.
Insight Talent Solutions is grateful to everyone who helped make the event a success. The funds raised helped to make a true difference in cancer patients and their families.
The National Kidney Foundation of WI
Since 2014, Insight Talent Solutions has been actively involved in raising awareness for and treatment of kidney disease by collaborating with The National Kidney Foundation of WI. Their mission is to prevent kidney and urinary tract diseases, improve the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases, and increase the availability of all organs for transplantation.
This cause is so important to Founder and President of Insight Talent Solutions, Sandra M. Smith, that she started a special fund, The Linda Rose Tribute Fund, in honor of her late sister who passed away from complications due to Kidney Disease in 1999.
Every spring, Insight puts together a team of walkers and runners to participate in the Milwaukee Kidney Foundation Run/Walk. We also support this cause throughout the year, by donating to the National Kidney Foundation for every member who opts-in to be a part of our talent community or participates in a survey.
The Hope Center of Waukesha County
In 2016, Insight Talent Solutions formed a new partnership with the Hope Center of Waukesha County. When Founder and President, Sandra M. Smith, learned about this organization she was so moved by the work that they do that she saw an opportunity to use one of her talents-baking.
The Hope Center is dedicated to the prevention of homelessness in the Waukesha County area by providing individuals with meals, clothing, financial aid, and furniture free of charge. Smith has baked desserts for several of their Outreach Meals Programs as well as making financial contributions to them, and hopes to continue to expand her involvement in this cause.
Since 2014, Insight Talent Solutions has proudly served as an annual sponsor for the NCWIT-WI Awards for Aspirations in Computing. This award gives special recognition to young women in high school who have made accomplishments in the field of IT.
Not only does this program provide young women with scholarships and internships, it also connects them to mentors within their community and gives them channels to learn more about the IT field and how to pursue a career in IT. With a decline in recent years of women entering the IT field, Insight Talent Solutions was excited to partner with an organization that encourages young minds to pursue a career in technology.
In 2015, Sandra Smith was featured as a guest speaker at the University of WI- Madison’s E-Business Consortium’s (UWEBC) “IT Peer Group Meeting – IT Staffing Challenges & Development.”
Smith spoke on the topic of how small, rural companies can compete with larger firms for top talent and how to address the looming challenge of a talent gap, as large numbers of baby boomers retire. This presentation served as a valuable tool for many local businesses to address the struggles they are currently facing. View the presentation here!
Although a small organization, Insight Talent Solutions has a long history of hiring local students throughout Wisconsin. Not only are these internships designed to work around a student’s busy schedule, they also qualify for college credit and are often paid.
The opportunity to work remotely is often a big draw for students because they can easily balance the internship with their school schedule and other activities. Additionally, our internships give students real responsibilities that prepare them for the workforce and get them used to practicing effective time-management.
